ABOUT GIORGIO LANZANI
(Versione italiana)
I was born in Milan on December
23rd, 1948, where I lived,
wrote music and drew until 1972. I then
moved to Venice
where I wrote my first collection of poems, IL MATTO E LA LUNA (The
Fool and The Moon), issued as a black box of poems and photographs.
In 1982 I
recorded a collection of songs, UN SOGNO IN MEZZO AL MARE
(A Dream in the Middle of the Sea), a rock blues record played by the Banda Lanzani, a rock
band which never existed, produced by an imaginary recording company: Vecchio Scarpone (Old
Boot).
In 1984 I created
my second collection of poems, conceived as a white box: STRADE PARALLELE
(Parallel Roads).
In April 85 I
finished recording my second collection of songs, VOR IHREM GEBURTSTAG
(Birthday's Eve). I composed the music and Daniela De Meo wrote the lyrics. The
name of the imaginary band was Parsifal.
I published my
third collection of poems AMORE COSMICO
(Cosmic Love) in
I wrote my most
recent collection of poems in 1989: a gold box entitled IL SANTO E L'EROE (The
Saint and the Hero).
In December 1996
I presented my first work of sacred music: a Ave Maria sung by the
choir of Travo under the direction of Andrea Zermani in the church of Travo
(Piacenza).
A PATER NOSTER for a
polyphonic choir and a STABAT MATER for voice and string orchestra were
presented, in the church of S. Maria Ausiliatrice in Jesolo, at Easter 1999,
along with the Latin version of the Ave Maria and a VENI CREATOR SPIRITUS
for voice and organ.
Always in Jesolo
I wrote a story titled THE
SYNDROME OF THE SWALLOW (Translation
of Mattew Mc Parland), a project
for a film with my music like resonant column.
In the summer of
2002 I have written some stories for children, UNCLE’S GEORGE
STORIES from that was created a book in the month of December
2005.
In the month of
November of 2003 I have finished to compose a CONCERT CONCERTO PER PIANOFORTE E ORCHESTRA
.
From the January
2004 until the month of July 2006 I have working to the mine first lyric
work: HAMLET a reduction of
mine in English of the shakespearian text.
Finally an ANTIGONE that I
have just finished and that is composed on the complete translation of the text
of Sophocles of the professor Ian Johnston.
